چکیده
In this study, the seismic response of shallow foundations resting on a liquefiable soil layer is modeled using coupled smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH)-discrete element method (DEM) scheme. framework, deposit represented by an assembly DEM particles and fluid domain lumped into set SPH carrying local properties. The averaged forms Navier-Stokes equations dictate motion fluid-particle mixture interphase forces are estimated well-known semi-empirical equations. A saturated soil-foundation system with average contact pressure 50 kPa was created foundation block composed collection glued together high-stiffness bonds. No-penetration boundary condition applied to all sides allow for fluid-foundation interaction. model subjected strong base acceleration analyzed compared free-field. ground settlement in mostly originated from co-seismic deviatoric deformations while volumetric strains were main contributing factor at addition, impact permeability examined changing pore viscosity. According results, as decreased, smaller excess pressures developed beneath footing thanks slower migration bottom, larger magnitude strength stiffness maintained expansive zone. As result, lowest experienced smallest amplitude highest case. results also showed that percentage post-shaking appreciably increased lower-permeability deposits. study published centrifuge studies good qualitative consistency. • SPH-DEM scheme utilized soils. Averaged form used describe mixture. qualitatively agree studies.

Skirted foundations are an appropriate alternative to deep foundations in onshore and offshore structures, which have the ability to withstand uplift loads, are also easy to be installed. The tensile performance of skirted foundations on sand was studied by physical and numerical modeling. Laboratory tests were carried out on small-scale foundation models with peripheral skirts. متن کاملA Numerical Evaluation of Seismic Response of Shallow Soil Deposits
This paper employs one-dimensional numerical ground response analysis models to investigate seismic response of shallow cohesive and non-cohesive soil deposits on vertical propagation of horizontal shear waves. Soil response is modelled by traditional equivalent-linear (EL) frequency-domain analysis using DEEPSOIL software and nonlinear (NL) time-domain analysis using OPENSEES software. The ana...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
